Ahhh there's something to be said about sitting in the open window of a train and letting your legs hang out the side with the wind blowing through your hair.
Our children had the opportunity to discover just how much fun riding on the Puffing Billy steam train through the Dandenong Ranges can be.
Despite busily preparing for our departure to Thailand, we wanted to go on a special family outing before we left and there doesn't get much better than the old Puffing Billy.
We left from Belgrave station and got off at Lakeside station to enjoy a lovely picnic at the Emerald Lake Park.
Our children we really excited to be sitting on, what they thought was, "Toby" from the Thomas the Tank Engine stories as that's also my eldest son's name. And, of course, our engine was green so it had to be Percy!
